Teaching of medical ethics as a separate academic program been universally accepted for the last 50 years. Two alternative ideas of medical ethics teaching have been developed. The first one is close to applicative ethics. Second transformative is more firmly rooted in medical tradition. The best methods in teaching medical ethics are still discussed. Ideally they should be rigorously validated in comparative studies and should rely on well-defined goals of teaching. Ideal of combining teaching ethics with clinical teaching is very difficult to achieve. Another theoretical obstacle in creating the common standard of ethical teaching is the luck of one universal theory of medical ethics.
