The article presents the history of women’s entrance into the scientific world of the Jagiellonian University, with a special regard to the women involved in the study and development of strict philosophy. I am interested in the following problems: whether and to what extent their sex had impact on their academic careers (among others: studying opportunities, grades) and how this influenced the preservation of their academic achievements. I would like to present biographies of selected female scientists, who worked in the period of 1897–1939, and their impact on science and culture. I present among others: Stefania Tatarówna, Władysława Tatarówna, Halina Biegańska-Płodowska, Cecylia Bańkowska-Ostachiewicz-Trzcińska, Maria Wędrychowska-Cyrus-Sobolewska and Debora Vogel.Downloads
