The paper discusses the question of the possibility of moral change in Aristotle’s theory. Aristotle held that virtue is accessible only to those who have already received proper upbringing and whose characters have already been adequately shaped. The aim of the article is to show that Karen Horney’s psychoanalytic conception of the functioning of the human psyche is both consistent with Aristotle’s theory and allows us to see the possibility of moral change. The change is a result of the knowledge and understanding of one’s own emotions and feelings.
