The article poses two questions: what kind of ecological ethics can be derived from posthumanistic reflection and then how this ethics could work in a specific space – an allotment garden. I am interested in the theoretical field that is designated by care and reflection on the world beyond human. As a starting point, I use the scheme of three traumas described by Sigmund Freud. The human situation after three traumas is read as a post-apocalyptic landscape in which it is possible to build a new ecological ethic. Discussing the spectrum of posthumanism, I pay attention to the problem of border and duality. In addition to indicating ethical examples of gardening practices, I propose to include the death of gardeners in the process of shaping the garden’s structure.
