In this paper I discuss the problem of axiological neutrality (value freedom, Wertfreiheit) in the area of university teaching. In Max Weber’s opinion science requires objectivity and value freedom from its practitioners, who must be motivated by a selfless Beruf (vocational calling) dedicated solely to the discovery of truth. Axiological neutrality implies not judging the validity of an opinion in university teaching. The author takes into consideration the arguments against Weberian axiological neutrality, especially in the area of university teaching, presented by prof. Ija Lazari Pawłowska.
